Faux Painting has been my career for the past 25 years, so I thought it might be fun to start posting some of my thoughts, insights and experiences. Having worked in hundreds of homes over the years for designers, contractors and homeowners, I can confidently say that tasteful faux finishes are often the key to transforming a home from 'nice' to spectacular!

When it comes to your home’s interior, faux finishes are the ‘icing’ on the cake! Why? Let’s begin with the very 'nature' of faux finishes.

Do we ever see ‘solid’ colors in nature? Never! All of Creation is ‘painted’ in varying tones and shades, from subtle to dramatic. If the Premier ARTIST works in shades and tones, there must be a reason… beauty!!

The essence of color in nature is variation and intensity, whether it's a sunset, the ocean, or a flower. The essence of faux is the same. The faux painter is simply imitating the multi-dimensional character of color inherent in nature. The result is a warmth and beauty that is unachievable with solid-color painting. While solid colors have their place, faux finishes can bring spaces and homes to another level of beauty and sophistication!
